Website Help

Website Requirements

  • Quicktime Player plug-in.
  • DiVx plug-in.
  • If, even after downloading and running both QuickTime and DivX, you are still having problems viewing the programs in DiVx format, do the following:

You have to disable Quicktime ActiveX Control in order to run DivX in westernbass.tv.

    1) Go to your Tools and click "Internet Options" then click the "Programs" tab.
Next click "Manage Add-ons" on the bottom of the page.

    2) In the drop down menu, select "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer" then highlight any "Quicktime Object" add-ons (there maybe more than one) and check the "Disable" box in the Settings area on on bottom of the window.

    3) Click "OK" when finished then reload westernbass.tv.

4)The ActiveX drop menu might come up and ask you if you want to intstall DivX Active Control, click it and select "Run ActiveX".

By the way this will NOT affect Quicktime, you can still watch the videos in Quicktime format.

    About Browsers

This site has been successfully tested on the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer (Windows and Mac), Netscape Navigator (Windows and Mac), Safari (Mac) and Firefox (Mac). It should work on most previous versions of these browsers as well, although it may be more difficult to install the QuickTime plug-in.

    About Internet Connection Speeds

The data rate for most of the movies is around 200 kbps (about 25 KiloBytes per second). Most DSL and Cable connections are at least 384 kbps so the movie should be able to start playing immediately. Most Dial-Up connections are 56 kbps. Since this is much less than the data rate of the movies on this site, it will take a long time for them to buffer (to download enough of the movie to play it continually through to the end). For a 56k modem it will take up to 3 times the total length (in minutes) of the movie for the clip to buffer.
